THANK YOU!!!

Because of your action, the 2015 Congressional Briefing organized by the National E58 071715 Statement 2Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCSE) on July 14th at 1/30 PM at the U.S. Capitol building was a SUCCESS! Double-click the image on the right, then click the arrow to see those briefing photos.

So many attended that many had to be turned away! Members of the press and Congressional Staffers told NCSE thay had NEVER been to a briefing this packed!

It’s a good step forward that hopefully leads to more engagement on the danger of one of the major contributors to the demand for sex with minors: PORNOGRAPHY. You can read news media articles about the event at these links:

USA Today – http://usat.ly/1TCIxZi
Washington Times – http://bit.ly/1M635Hv
Christian Broadcast Network – http://bit.ly/1HuUESI

From our friends at NCSE & facebook.com/PornHarms:

“The latest research on the links between prostitution, trafficking, and pornography was examined in depth by Melissa Farley, PH.D.; and neurologist and addiction expert, Don Hilton, MD, revealed the impact to the brain that occurs with pornography use. Feminist activist, author and scholar Gail Dines, PH.D. discussed the violence against women and children that is regularly perpetuated by pornography. Father of kidnap victim Elizabeth Smart and activist, Ed Smart, explained the real life connections between porn, child exploitation, sex trafficking and violence and many other speakers commented on issues like child brain development, impact to the family, and further implications of this multi-faceted issue.”

Bless you!!!

Who else celebrated Freedom?

SCROLL DOWN TO SEE THIS MONTH’S SUGGESTED PRAYER FOCUS

In light of our most recent holiday – the 4th of July – I’m reminded of the reason we celebrate it: Freedom.

However, I can’t help but think of those who still do NOT have the same freedoms even though they live in the same neighborhoods as we do. I’m speaking, of course, of minors who are recruited and sold for sex.

Your prayers CAN make a difference in their lives!!!

Each month, on the 10th, we stop whatever we’re doing at 10 AM and 10 PM and pray right where we are for human trafficking related issues occurring along Interstate-10 which has been nicknamed the “super highway for human trafficking” by the U.S. Department of Justice.

JOIN US FRIDAY, JULY 10th @ 10 AM & 10 PM

THIS MONTH’S SUGGESTED PRAYER:  Pray for more awareness of the sex trafficking of minors to be raised in the cities living along Interstate 10 (or your local interstate). Pray they will become mobilized to report their suspicions to the National Human Trafficking Hotline (1-888-373-7888).

Thank you for joining us this month to pray for human trafficking related issues connected to Interstate 10. By doing so, victims have been rescued from a tragic way of living.

If you would like to learn more about how your prayers ARE helping or to get these requests sent to your inbox, please message me or contact me at Exit58@transportforchrist.org or 717-426-9977 ext. 112.

Celebrate Freedom: Give 5 Minutes to Fight for Sex Trafficked Children

Would you be willing to give 5 minutes to fight for children who are being sexually trafficked?

In light of the upcoming U.S. holiday –  the 4th of July –  I’m reminded of the reason we celebrate this day: Freedom.

However, I can’t help but think of those who still do NOT have the same freedoms even though they live in the same neighborhoods and are natural born citizens of the same country. I’m speaking, of course, of minors who are recruited and sold for sex.

Right now, U.S. children are enslaved to satisfy adults whose sexual appetites are groomed by industries – both legal and illegal – who profit from selling their young bodies. Up to 300,000 children under 18 are lured into the commercial sex trade every year. 14,500 to 17,500 are trafficking into the United States each year.

Annually, pornography is a $10 to $12 billion dollar industry protected as free speech under the First Amendment in People vs Freeman of 1988 (California Supreme Court). However, while the business cultivates adult demand for sex with minors, it also actively targets minors to capture and create lifelong consumers through aggressive internet tagging while operating with extremely limited federal or state regulations.

The National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCSE) website states “There is a great deal of science and research that reveals a wide range of harm caused by pornography as well as direct links to increased demand for the sale of minors for sex and sexual violence against women. This industry affects the developing brains and shapes the sexual templates of children. It also contributes to the rise in sexual dysfunction now experienced by many young men and can be tied to the normalization of dangerous sexual behaviors. It’s time for our elected officials to address the effects of pornography consumption as a public health crisis.”

You can make a difference by urging your congress member(s) to attend the 2015 Congressional Briefing organized by the NCSE on July 14th from 1:30 to 30:30 pm at the U.S. Capitol building.

This meeting is also open to their staff, the press, and the public. However, it’s important for you to contact your congress member(s) to encourage them to attend. Using all three means of contacting them (phone, email, and fax) will be the most effective.

Click this link to read more about it: http://endsexualexploitation.org/briefing. Scroll all the way down the page to use the invitation links provided (scrips are provided).

You can also help spread the word by sharing this link: https://exit58drivingdowndemand.wordpress.com/2015/06/30/19 or post this photo (provided by NCSE) on social media:

National Center on Sexual Exploitation will host a critical Congressional Briefing to present these facts and possible solutions to public officials and the press. Please ask your representatives to attend the event and help solve the public health crisis of pornography now overwhelming our society.Happy 4th of July and thank you for raising your voice to fight for their freedom!

Who Else Was Changed by God’s Kindness?

SCROLL DOWN TO SEE THIS MONTH’S SUGGESTED PRAYER FOCUS

God’s kindness can be seen in surprising ways. Who else remembers a time when you got caught doing something you knew was wrong? What was the outcome of that situation in your life? Was one of them a revelation of God’s mercy and forgiveness followed by a decision to follow God more closely to change your life for the better? If you said “Yes!” then you my friend experienced God’s kindness leading you to repentance, didn’t you?

Thank you for praying for an unpleasant reality occurring in our nation along our highways and in your community.  Your prayer is God’s kindness in action.

Click the underlined titles below to see some of the people you’ve been praying for:
Houston, TX Sting Operation Against Sex Trafficking
Texas: 100 People Found in Suspected HT Stash House
Arrests for HT ‘Tip of the Iceberg’ in Talllahassee (FL)

JOIN US WEDNESDAY, JUNE 10th @ 10 AM & 10 PM

Suggested Prayer Focus:  Pray for the men and women* who are paying for sex with teens and children. Their current addiction began through coping mechanisms developed to survive the loneliness and anger of broken relationships in their own childhood. 1 in 20 men use the internet to arrange paid sexual encounters in the US, but that figure jumps to 1 in 4 in Houston, Texas (I-10 passed through the heart of this area). Ask God to rescue their hearts with His kindness.

*40% of boys and 13% of girls who were surveyed have female clients.
